A heterogeneous mixture is a mixture where you can see all the different parts.
Example of a solid heterogeneous mixture would be a salad, salsa or dirt. in a salad you can see all the different parts like the lettuce, tomatoes, etc.
An example of a liquid heterogeneous mixture would be if you had any ice tea with ice cubes in it. if it did not have ice cubes in it it would no longer me heterogeneous.
Examples of a gas heterogeneous mixture would be air. You may not be able to see all the different parts, but they are there. It is a solution of nitrogen gas and oxygen plus other gases. It also could consist of polution and other things.
A homogeneous mixture is when you cannot see the different parts.
An example of a solid homogeneous mixture would be brass which is the solution of the elements zinc and copper.
Examples of liquid homogeneous mixtures include solutions like tea, kool-aid, and saltwater.
Examples of gas homogeneous mixtures could also be air because if it does not have any type of polution or nothing else is added to it, it would be homogeneous.
